MBFW F/W14 – WILDFOX COUTURE

On a very snowy evening in New York City, the LA based brand Wildfox Couture was able to transport us from the slush filled NYC streets, to an ultra cool, feminine, hip, bohemian, and floral winter wonderland at Pier 59. It was the perfect way to start off New York Fashion Week. For Wildfox's New York [...]

Fourth of July Fashion Flash 2013

Ahh...it's that time of year again! Backyard BBQ's, days at the beach, Ice pops! It's July!! This means that the festivities of American Independence day are underway! I love the 4th of July! I always start craving ice cream, hot dogs and hamburgers with a ton of mustard and sauerkraut right about now, which is [...]

Gosh I miss taking over Manhattan one fashion event at a time! Found this gem of a candid throw back photo! Its me and my original fashion week partner in crime @leckieroberts being interviewed for @cosmopolitan in 2015/2016 during #NYFW and apparently me seeing someone I was excited to see while filming! Oh the good ol’ days! Who remember them?
Once I am safe & healthy enough to leave the apartment I am going to Pont Alexandre III and the Seine avec champagne, baguettes, fromages, et croissants and I am having a trés Française decadent picnic! Who wants to join me?
I had a dream last night I was a princess...👸🏻 It was a great dream! Have you had any wonderful dreams while sleeping lately? I’d love to hear!
I found these photos, never posted to IG from a few years ago! I love my life in Paris, but Oh how I miss my life in NYC, so very much! My friends, the parties & events, the hustle & bustle of the city, the smell of bagel shops in the morning, the crisp cold air in the fall, the energy, the vibe, the nightlife, the people, the way of life and even sometimes (dare I say) the traffic! Haha!
Flashing back to four years ago in Rome! Wow! 4 years ago? Time truly flies! I loved this trip so much! The scene from the airport security check all the way to the hotel room, in true Dara fashion was like an episode from “I Love Lucy”! How was I supposed to know that I needed to pack all my cosmetics in clear plastic bags in my carryon? Plus we changed hotel room three times on the same night in the same 4 star hotel because of mold smalls, a constantly running shower, and the bed! (I am sure you can envision this in your head. Its quite comical) We live and learn.
Yesterday was a great day! I got to see Cherry blossoms in Paris. A tree I love so much because it fills the atmosphere with hues of pink! Something very little that makes me very very happy!
One of the most incredible experiences of my career to date💕 Designing a perfectly fitting red carpet award show ensemble in one week, with limited resources due to Covid 19, across three time zones, three countries, and without a single fitting on the client before it arrived for show day was a very interesting task! 💖⭐️💖 Read ALL about my design process for @thealexnewell for the @criticschoice awards on darasenders.com
This may not look like anything special, just a hallway and you would be right in most cases. But, because Paris is filled with so many courtyard passage ways that lead to the unknown, each time I pass one it fills my head with wonder. Each one is different and beautiful in their own right, just like a person, with a soul and personality all to its own that can look like it goes on for miles and miles in many cases, like this passage way here.
In honor of today’s snow fall in Paris & the fact we can’t go out because there is a big Gilet Jaune protest in the 19eme, I am flashing black to 2018 when Paris had a blizzard (very rare) and I went to Place de Mars to take it all in and take some photos! Because, well... why not? ❄️❄️☃️J’adore la neige!!☃️❄️❄️ #darasenders #paris #snow #snowinparis #eiffeltower
Wishing all my friends & followers who celebrate Christmas a Happy & Healthy one! 🎄♥️🎅🏻🍪🥛💝••• It was the most beautiful day in Paris last Sunday and the only day I was able to venture out and enjoy the holiday season in Paris. Its also a very rare sighting with me wearing a ponytail. 😋 It was a lovely day walking from the Louvre to the Champs Élysées, passed the Grand Palais to Pont Alexandre III where we took a long held deep breath and exhaled all of this years fears, tears, stresses and worries (into our @darasendersofficial masks of course) in front of the Eiffel tower standing in the bridge overlooking the seine! ••• this year for the holidays my biggest wish of all among the grand successes and happiness for all is that we will all get to be with our families again singing and dancing celebrating life and for those who have been very sick this year to heal & recover forever!!! Ahmen! ••• #thestylesenders #merrychristmas #christmas #happyholidays #paris
An oldie but goodie! This Photo came up in my phone as a memory from three years ago in February! I remember this day like it was yesterday. @hautehouseflower and I met at @chezjulienparis for coffee and to take some photos with @bloggerphotographer. It quickly started pouring which cut our time short, but it was still a fun afternoon during Paris Fashion Week! If you zoom in you can see how it started to rain in the photo, too! 🤗💖 #stylesenders #pfw #paris #streetstyle #memories #parisianstyle #beforecovid #parisjetaime #styleoftheday #americaninparis

This has to be one of my most favorite photos taken of me in Paris! I was so incredibly happy to be here and I still am! Nothing has changed except from then till now I am now just as happy and so lucky to call Paris my 2nd home!! 💕💕💕🇫🇷 I am a true #americaninparis and #anamericaninparis who misses exploring the city to the fullest at the moment, oh so much! #wearamask and stay vigilant everyone so we can all go back to living our lives to the absolute grandest and fullest without any fear of the “what if” health concerns! #mercibeaucoup !!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼💖💖💖 Wouldn’t you agree?

Just a little throw back of my feeling as happy as a...well...happier than anything in front of this beautiful lady when the world was a little but of a happier place to be in! ☁️💖🇫🇷! Would Paris be your next destination once international travel is allowed? 🇫🇷🇫🇷 ———————————————————— #paris #eiffeltower #americaninparis #parisjetaim #springtimeinparis #printemps #champdemars
Looked up from my computer for the first time in a week and saw this beautiful sight out my window! Paris Je T’aime! ☁️🌙💕 #frommywindow
Because I caved and tried the @refaceapp while in lockdown in Paris! Am I a better Elizabeth Taylor/Cleopatra or Lilly Collins/Emily Cooper in Emily in Paris? If only the later was real, or at least a supporting roll! 😄😄
So I was looking through my phone to post another picture when I came across this video from Aug. 2017. In reference to the post before this one, this is another time that I was surprised with an extravagant moment where I wished I had dressed differently! #storyofmylife ! This is one of the biggest surprises my boyfriend has ever pulled off so far! The story was that we were going for dinner and then after we were meeting friends at a bar in Pigalle not far from one that we used to frequent often, which also happens to not be far from the @moulinrougeofficiel ! Its actually around the corner. Since we were in this area, it didn’t phase me at all. But, when Rudy took a turn on another street I had never seen before I was a little skeptical…and said, “Dont we neeed to go this way?” As he replied that no, and ended up on the corner of the street of the Moulin Rouge he got a mysterious “phone call” from a friend saying that plans have changed. He then told me that plans were canceled and asked if I wanted to do something else. I started to think and while I was Rudy asked me to open a piece of paper he forgot to show me at dinner. To my surprise, as you can see in this video I was completely shocked! It was tickets to the Moulin Rouge!!! When I get really excited my voice gets really high! So l, since my voice is higher than a dog whistle you can clearly see how excited and happy I was to be finally seeing a show at the Moulin Rouge! A lifelong dream of mine in which again I did not feel I was dressed appropriately enough for! Haha! The show was spectacular, spectacular… And our table was front row center with only two tables in front of us! It was perfect! After, we went to the bar we were supposed to be friends at and had a beautiful night of fun and dancing! Take me back to Aug 2017. ✨🎶🎶💃🏻✨💃🏻🎶🎶✨#moulinrouge #darasenders #stylesendersgoestoparis #paris #cancan #frenchcancan #surprise #mondaymood #paris #parisfrance #americaninparis #anamericaninparis #theater #frenchie #burlesque #jetaime #parisianstyle #parisjetaime #memories #throwback
You guys! I’m feeling super nostalgic again today! So, here is the first photo I ever took in Paris! • I was super jet-lagged & Rudy wanted to take me out for a very special dinner to celebrate my arrival. Although I was over the moon happy to be in Paris for the first time, I just wasn’t feeling it. My idea of going out to dinner for the first time in Paris was something I imagined out of a movie...definitely not feeling so exhausted that I wouldn’t appreciate it in full or feel my best. But, after major convincing, Rudy got me out & off the sofa! I put on some makeup & we headed towards the Metro? Yes the metro! He really wanted to give me the “real” Parisienne experience! But there was a reason as to why we took the metro that I was later surprised with! Riding the metro for the first time was an experience! As we walked towards the exit we approached a grand staircase. It was at that very moment Rudy told me to close my eyes & follow his lead walking up 40+ steps. I kept my eyes half open till we got to the last few steps to avoid me breaking my neck on my first night in Paris. As we got to the top of the stairs, Rudy had turned me around, & said “Okay, you can open your eyes now!” But I was just facing him with a backdrop of buildings & a main avenue with lots of traffic. I said, “OKAY! Are you my surprise?” in slight confusion. He laughed & had me close my eyes again as he turned me around. He then told me to reopen my eyes & when I did, it felt like all the air had left my lungs & all the joy in the world entered my soul! I was standing in front of the Palais Garnier! My dream building! I had said how much I wanted to visit the Opera just once maybe on our 2nd or 3rd date. The fact that he remembered this meant more to me than anything! I was so happy to be here! But the surprise wasn’t over just yet! He had made reservations to eat dinner there that evening, too! Being the true perfectionist I am, I was so upset that I wasn’t dressed in a cocktail dress with my hair perfectly coiffed & a less than full phone battery to take more photos! In a weird way Im happy it wasn’t documented as per usual. I guess that’s what makes this photo so special to me!
