BCBGMaxAzria Fall 2010 collection showcases free-flowing asymmetrical dresses and black cashmere crew-neck sweaters. Geometric wrap-dresses were the focal point leaving many women wanting to snatch a few for themselves. What seamed interesting to me was how he chose to layer tunics over the asymmetrical dresses and tunics. The construction was impeccable as usual and the use of color-blocked silks really made a statement.
As Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Fall 2010 starts at the same time it is an ending of an era. Since 1993 Bryant Park has been the home to New York Fashion week making the park the heart of the garment district and of Manhattan itself. When it first began 35 of America’s best fashion designers had partaken in the festivities. This season there are 250 designers showing at fashion week on and off location.

Designer Massimiliano Giornetti took this season in Milan to the country. By country I do not mean Italy’s country side. This collection almost makes you feel like you are in a modern-day Cowboy’s Couture Dream that consisted of distressed suede riding boots, over-sized coats with large toggle closers, leathers, velvets, and rich deep earth tones including brown, green, and navy! As a contrast there was a lot of light colors such as white, cream and bone! There also seemed to be hints of flair from dating back to the 1940’s. Oh, If only cowboys dreamed in Couture!!!! I wonder what John Wayne might have thought of this collection…hmm?
