PFW FW17: Dara’s Sent Style No. 3 &Talbot Runhoff

On this gloomy day in Paris I attended my 3rd day of Paris Fashion Week! Luckily I only had one presentation and one fashion show on this day. It was raining so hard at one point that it was impossible to see in front of me after leaving the first presentation in which I am not allowed to discuss. We stood under an awning for what felt like 10minutes trying to order an Uber to our next destination. Luckily when the Uber arrived, the rain came to a sudden stop. However, I did not see the huge puddle down from the curb and completely soaked both of my feet in dirty street water! YUCK! Luckily, the shoes did not get ruined and dried rather quickly.

Not really hearing of designer duo Talbot Runhoff until receiving their invite in the mail, I was really excited to see their collection for Fall 2017 after seeing their previous collections online. This was also the first fashion show I was granted backstage access to during PFW. How cool is that? Being the outgoing gal I am, I found one of the designers, Jonny Talbot and introduced myself. He is such a sweet and funny fella and showed me their entire collection while taking his time to explain how each garment was made! It was so wonderful! TR’s collection this season was about woman empowerment and being a strong woman no matter their background! As he explained the collections theme he made funny references to the American presidential elections in which I wont quote here out of respect for your personal political views, however they were very funny! The show took place at the Westin – Place Vendome which from the outside looks beautiful but little does one know the magnitude of the ballrooms from the inside! They take you back to another time in which makes you feel like you are back in 19th century Paris. From the chandeliers to the gold paintings on he ceilings, the rooms are absolutely breathtaking! It was really nice being able to share what I do during Fashion Week with my boyfriend and witnessing him enjoying his first ever Fashion Week Fashion Show in which he thought would be filled with only really snobby and pretentious people. I tried convincing him otherwise but he ultimately saw for himself that most were very kind and social. He was also a great big help regarding photographing and filming. I really just wanted him to enjoy and be a guest but he insisted on helping me, which I am very thankful for!
Walking into the backstage area was a treat for the eye in every which way! Walking into the front of house venue was even more beautiful with cascading  larger than life chandeliers and a bright red runway! As we took out seats for the show the music was pumping and the photographer’s cameras were flashing as per usual. I left our seats for a minute to go say hello to friends from NYC that I saw is the distance, chatted for a few then went back to my seat advised by the PR team for the show was about to start. As the show started one beautiful dress was more beautiful than the last and hearing my boyfriend commenting his opinion of each look that took to the runway made my day! It was really great sharing my love for fashion with him and him being as receptive as he was towards it!

After the show was over I ran into fabulous fashion designer and friend Bibhu Mohapatra in the hallway! It was such a pleasant surprise to see another familiar face in Paris. We made plans for me to see his collection privately the next day!

As we left the Westin we walked to the center of Place Vendome to take some photos in the rain! I always wanted to have a rainy photo shoot and with how cool the lighting was reflecting on the street and how everything had a special golden glow, it was the most perfect moment and end to a really great day!
