Dara’s Sent Style: A Summer Dream on a Rainy Day!

On this beautifully sunny day in New York City, we had some unexpected showers. I was planning to shoot around the Meatpacking District but I was no longer able to shoot outside. If I knew it was going to rain I would have worn a completely different outfit and brought an umbrella. I had a few events this day, one taking place at the Dream Hotel Downtown. So I met my photographer there to brainstorm on a shooting location. I then realized that if the weather would become less messy the Dream Hotel has a majestic foyer that welcomes you before you make your way to the pool deck. I thought this was a perfect backdrop for a summertime casually chic ensemble. See everything works out in the end! Well, sort of! It was very funny. Every time we would go outside it would start to rain and when we would go back inside it would stop. The weather g-ds were playing a very funny game with us that afternoon. Murphy’s Law, right? Eventually their games ended and we were able to shoot. The overcast sky made for great lighting, too! img_5580

img_5570For me, simplicity is key. Especially when I am running lots of errands and going to several appointments. In the hot summer months there are many ways to dress casually while still embodying a high level of sophistication and class.  For I decided to do just that with pairing a loosely fitted white silk-like blouse with a pair of black denim shorts from Forever 21. To dress it up I wore this amazingly fun and stylish Large Circle Bag  (I mean just look how different the silhouette of the purse is! Plus how cool is the chain? I am in love with this handbag!) and a pair of Laverne High-heeled Loafers by Bill Blass. The hues of these accessories are perfectly saturated pastels! They really make any outfit more chic and feminine. To make my outfit a bit edgier I added this Lucia Leather Choker by Ettika x Free People, a pair of Byron Bay Earrings by Lionette and three bracelets from my  collections. “Dara Senders”Gateau Fortune Bracelet, LES LEVRES ROUGES Bracelet, and the MOLLY BRACELET. My statement sunnies were a street vendor purchase! I absolutely love pairing luxury items with fast fashion. It allows you to play around with your look and have more fun! IMG_5549img_5512
