Oh how I love the Meat Packing District of New York City. I used to walk here from FIT to clear my head during some stressful school days and window shop. I’d mostly walk the High Line, too. So, on a day during New York Fashion Week that was super stressful, coming here for a few events made me feel much more at ease. The bouquet of flowers you see me holding in the photographs were given as party favors at Misha Nonoo’s Instagram presentation of her Spring 2016 collection. It was held in a coffee shop with some of the best coffee I had ever tasted. It was the perfect way to start off the day with fashion. Everyone was so friendly, too.
I had a late night the evening before and I wanted to wear something that was light and simple but that also looked like I put some effort into it….effortlessly. I do not often wear skirts but this day called for it! It was 96 degrees with 97% humidity…which is my my hair is so puffy and frizzy. Not wanting to feel confined in pants I paired my favorite black T-shirt from Target with my favorite powder blue skirt from Eloquii. To finish the look I chose to wear an older denim acid-wash button down I bought a few years back at Fashion to Figure to make it more exciting. Accessorizing was made easy by layering necklaces by Pono by Joan Goodman, Bracelets by Dara Senders, a purse by Marie Odile by Soltek and a very cool personalized wallet by Letterz by ON (Thanks Ora & Naomi for designing one for me!! I absolutely love it!
Mixing and matching the prints and hues of blues and blacks of the denim shirt with the leather embossing of the purse played nicely on the eyes. It wasn’t too drastic of a mix-and-match play but was enough to be playful and chic.
