Only Watch – BOVET Previews Lady BOVET – A Unique Piece for a Wonderful Cause

Time pieces are accessories that have been around since the begining of time. At one point in history they status symbol in society. Over the years time pieces have become a staple in the jewelry and accessories market. Today, July 30, 2015 BOVET 1822 is privileged to participate in the sixth edition of Only Watch, the biennial fine timepiece auction benefitting Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. The House of BOVET has contributed a truly unique and beautiful piece to this important cause, crafted in homage to its rich history in the watchmaking arts – The Lady BOVET. This piece unique is based on a forthcoming model, set to debut in 2016.

From September 23rd to the November 7th auction date, the 2015 Only Watch collection including The Lady BOVET will tour the world, exhibiting in six high-profile destinations: Monaco, Hong Kong, Beijing, New York, and London, concluding at the Phillips auction house in Geneva. This year, the auction event moves to Geneva, Switzerland.

BOVET 1822 has always focused its philanthropic efforts on children’s causes. It is only natural, therefore, that we should lend our support to the noble cause defended by Only Watch. For this year’s event, we have decided to offer a unique Lady Bovet, a timepiece which represents a concentration of expertise that we have sought to perpetuate since 1822. This unique timepiece is based on a previously unreleased model that will appear for the first time in our collections in 2016.
This unique piece is animated by the Virtuoso II watchmaking specialty caliber developed by our Manufacturer DIMIER 1738 to offer the noblest expression of time by meeting the specificities and criteria of excellence which characterize our Maison since 1822. The exemplary chronometry of this movement is glorified by irreproachable finishings and seven days of power reserve for absolute comfort.

This timepiece is beautifully set in our convertible Amadeo® case, allowing the timepiece to be easily transformed from a reversible wristwatch to a table clock to a pendant necklace without the need for a single tool. By virtue of its reversibility, this piece boasts two very distinctive faces. One of the faces features pink-hued mother-of-pearl guilloché dials, whilst the other offers a miniature painting of a pair of doves. This painting is a reproduction of the grand feu enamel case back of a BOVET pocket watch that was manufactured at the turn of the 19th century.

The theme we have chosen is the universal message of peace and hope, exemplified by this piece. We also wanted to offer a timepiece that would pay tribute to women—who give life and protect children, who represent hope and the future of humanity, without distinction.

Through this gesture, I humbly hope to contribute to nurturing the dreams of the children who are so nobly supported
