When one thinks of the Timo Weiland brand they are automatically brought to the world of “cool”! Well, for Timo Weiland’s fall 2015 collection which took place on February 12th 2015 at Pier 59; cool is an understatement! Taking inspiration from the 1940’s and 1950’s photography of Saul Leiter and modernizing them for today’s woman one could see the mystique of how they transformed with fogged windowed images and brought them to life through fashion. Timo Weiland, Alan Eckstein and Donna Kang – the team behind Timo Weiland gave their audience and customer a nice a very wearable collection for the girl who loves to be fashion forward without having to try too hard, or to try at all. It just basically comes with the territory. Silhouettes were loosely fitted with off the shoulder sweatshirts and sweaters paired with pencil skirts and pajama-like pants, over-sized turtlenecks, loose button downs, and over-sized bomber jackets, and a few mini skirts juxtaposed the collection perfectly. Details of patchwork, fringe, stripes, and a wide floral print here and there gave the collection more dimension. But, who can forget the addition of the chunky knitted hats which were a favorite among the crowd. The hats were designed by Timo Weiland’s long-time fit-model and friend Luiza Madejak. Doc Martens made their appearance too gracing the feet of each model that walking down the runway. The whole collection had a very 1990’s grunge vibe but with a very 2015 spin on it – not as much grunge as uptown hipster.
We can’t wait to see what Timo Weiland’s 2015 collection brings for the trio. I know it will be a huge hit! Looking forward to seeing what they have in store for the following season! We just Love Timo Weiland! Congrats guys on a truly too-cool-for-school collection!
