Hello Loves:
Well, As many of you were out partying your tooshies off this year (as I did last year) I decided to make this New Year’s Eve a bit more low key and special. After a long December of lots of Simchas (Hebrew for celebrations) and lots of work had left me feeling a bit underwhelmed and tired. Don’t get me wrong I was super excited to New Year’s Eve and I would have loved to have been at the best parties around dancing the year away with all of my closest friends. In fact I had plans to do that until I just needed to chill and take it easy. So what did I do? I spent the evening with my parents – first at home with cocktails and hor d’oeuvres then we went out to dinner at a local restaurant called La Griglia in Kenilworth,NJ (it was truly delicious), then came home had dessert and played Scrabble till 3:30AM. In addition to the bottle we already drank, at midnight the restaurant handed out champagne and gave each of their diners hats, tiaras and noise makers to sound off the new year in a celebratory manor. 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1-HAPPY NEW YEAR! We spent the 1st hour of the new year socializing with fellow diners and having a really great time taking pictures and talking about what the new year should bring to one another! It was really a very fun time spent with my family and a nice way to ring in the new year and say goodbye to a year that everyone including myself thought was just one for the negativity books (although there were some great parts to it!)
What I Wore:
All black was the mood – not because of my personal mood, it’s just honestly what I felt like wearing since it was easy and I wanted to feel comfortable since I was honestly very tired from a very full week of lots going on! With a simple black turtle neck blouse and a simple pair of black slacks I dressed it up with accessories, of course!
