As a child my parents would annually take me on an autumn trip to Alsted Farms in Chester, New Jersey. Alsted is where I took my first hay-ride, picked my first pumpkin, had my first sip of apple cider and petted my first horse and saw my first chicken in its nest. It was a day I always looked forward to and still look forward to, to date. I love being out in the country in the fall with all of the pretty colors of the changing leaves and the brisk air that fills my lungs. This season was no exception, although I was a bit saddened that all of the apple trees were empty on the day we went. I was excited for the chance to go apple picking – but there is always next year, right?
