If you did not attend Nicky Zimmermann‘s spring 2015 runway show this season, you truly missed out on viewing one of the most pretty collections at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week! With ultra feminine silhouettes and flowy fabrics this collection is one that fell from the stars. Zimmermann’s inspiration came from a 1970’s tarot card deck by illustrator David Palladini. You could even see the astrological influence come through with subtle constellation and zodiac prints among many of the frocks that elegantly floated down the runway in Jacquard dresses and swimsuits. Our favorite looks consisted of a lattice cut lace layered slip dresses, ruffled swimsuits, wide-leg sequined slacks, and leather fall trench slickers with over-sized pockets. Even the suiting was beautiful and well tailored which was a nice contrast to the over-sized garments that made up a majority of the collection! In addition, each garment looked as if there were gold threading flickering throughout making a reference to the stars in the galaxy. As each look came down the runway you could hear all of the women gasping for each look was better than the next; overhearing friends whisper “there is not one outfit I do not want” Now, that’s a compliment – wouldn’t you say?
It was a very and one I could not keep out of my mind the entire week!
We are looking forward to Zimmermann’s Fall 2015 collection and seeing the Spring 2015 collection in stores across the country! I need every item in my closet now!
