It’s always a great time when attending a Charlotte Ronson fashion show and presentation – great atmosphere, great people, and great clothing – Oh My! On Sept. 7th, 2014 Ronson debuted her Spring 2015 collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Lincoln Center. Deciding to have the showing on location versus The Hub was a great move. There was much more room for viewing, photographing and socializing with the guests who included Whitney Port, designer Timo Weiland, and the designer’s noteworthy family including brother DJ Marc Ronson, sister DJ Samantha Ronson and mother Jewelry Designer Ann Dexter-Jones; just to name a few.
Staged like a well curated museum exhibit, models stood and revolved in the round while caged behind a blue on blue polka dot velvet rope (that matched the print used in her collection) It was pretty evident that her inspiration drew from art or a day at the museum. There were also benches around the circumference of the staging for museum like viewing for guests to rest their tired feet and take a closer look at the garments. The collection was very flowy and flouncy yet proportionately boxy and structured which was a nice contrast between the two types of fits. It was a sweetly sophisticated take on Ronson’s signature youthful cool girl which was really nice to see. Bold florals and polka-dots were a focal point for the prints and pastel hues of blue, mint, white, beige, and with pops on navy stole the show. Garment details included chiffon paneling, perforated neoprene, plunging strappy necklines, denim collared shirts, and fitted skirts; which stood out the most and will definitely be favorites among the designer’s customer.
The hair was clean, straight and tucked behind the hear. The makeup was minimal and fresh. As for accessories; bold sunglasses with black and blue holographic frames were a nice addition to the collection. Teva inspired sandals are also making a comeback in Charlotte Ronson’s Spring 2015 collection. Every model sported a pair – dating myself back to when I was a sleep away camp camper thinking about the times where if you didn’t have a pair of Tevas – you just weren’t cool!
Thank you to the Charlotte Ronson team for inviting us to their wonderful show this season! We can’t wait to see what Fall 2015 has in-store!!
Till next season…
