On September 4th 2014, we headed to our 2nd show of the day – Jay Godfrey. As we entered the space at The Hub located in the Hudson Hotel we were in for a surprise. The room that was staged with heaps of hay truly smelled as if we were in the country and had just taken a trip to a fashionable barn. Musician Idgy Dean was there, smack in the middle of the action to entertain us all with her rock and roll electronic music. It was a treat.
Now onto the collection – picture an updated 1976 American rock and roll/country music queen, disco-esque cowgirl; this is what Jay Godfrey’s collection exuded. beautiful iridescent laces, fringe, denim and chevron sequins stole the show. – particularly in the looks shown below.
FAVORITE LOOKS
When speaking with Jay on what his inspiration was for the collection, he told me that he wanted his women to be a bit more edgy for Spring 2015 noting on the fact that this collection had many more daytime ready to wear looks than seasons past. It was a bit more western and casual than fancy. In our book, this is A-OK!
