Parisian graffiti artist, Philippe Baudelocque was the inspiration for Rebecca Taylor’s Fall 2014 collection during New York Fashion Week. His larger than life abstract drawings of animals, are rendered in white chalk and can be found in urban cityscapes. Intrigued with the idea of unconventional pairings, Taylor created a collection of chic, modern, sportswear styled in unique ways.
A wide variety of fabrics were used in the collection including wool, mohair, leather, mesh, and chiffon. Luxurious shearling details were added on the collars and cuffs of coats and jackets. Colors were muted with shades of grey, blue, lavender, rose gold, petrol, chalk, and metallic quartz.
Boxy sweaters and tops were paired with chiffon, blouses and quilted mini skirts. Fuzzy wool coats were layered over crepe dresses with peek-a-boo mesh inserts, and chiffon underlays. Pants were slouchy and sophisticated, and sweatshirts were updated for evening.
Once again, Rebecca Taylor delivered a collection that was refined and fashion forward…so that every woman can feel like an IT GIRL!
