MBFW SS2014: THE PERFECT HOTEL FOR MBFW AND ALL FASHION BUSINESS TRIPS TO NYC!

_DSC0383_whitenedFiguring out a place to stay during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week/New York Fashion Week can be very daunting. Hotel costs per night in New York City are very expensive and many may not be able to afford to stay the entire week, which makes life very difficult when you have multiple shows a day, meetings, interviews, and after parties to attend. It can also be difficult to find that perfectly priced hotel in a short distance from where most of the action is, which is Lincoln Center. Many of us who attend Fashion Week would love to stay right across from the tents or at least a few blocks away, however many of those hotels will cost you thousands of dollar just for 7 days. If you are on a tighter budget like myself, dreaming of them is wonderful but at the end of the evening, you need a place to rest your perfectly coiffed head!

After all my research, I found the perfect hotel for all of your Fashion Week and all year round business stays!

I present to you the

Residence Inn New York Manhattan/Times Square

Located in the heart of NYC’s garment district, 1033 Avenue of the Americas at 39th Street, this is the perfect hotel to stay during your trip to NYC; whether you are in for Fashion Week, Business, or just leisure!

Upon arrival,The hotel staff was extremely friendly and accommodating towards all of my needs and were willing to help me as much as they could with all inquires. This welcoming attitude stayed present throughout the week!
The Location is only a short taxi ride and an even short subway ride (1 train) to Lincoln Center. The taxi ride one way cost aprox. $7 each way and was about a 6-10 minute drive to get there depending on traffic. So I was able to get to and from the tents in a new york minute! It was also centrally located to many of the events and off location shows I was invited to attend!

The hotel’s beds were extremely comfortable which allowed me to sleep very comfortably rejuvenating my body for the long days ahead of me! Being my schedule was completely erratic, I never really had time to eat properly so having a full kitchen in the room was prime! I was able to stock up on my healthy snacks, lots of water bottles, and V8 juice, and some quick breakfast noshes and have it ready and waiting for me when I returned to the room and woke up the next day. All I had to do was either grab something from the fridge or pop something in the microwave and I was out the door! The hotel also has a mini-market which is stocked with lots of snacks, and frozen meals for you to heat up in your microwave. For those staying a very long stay, the rooms come fully furnished with cooking utensils and appliances such as a hot plate, a crock pot and several stove top cookware so you’ll never go hungry.

After needing a place to sleep, the main reason for my stay at the Residence Inn New York Manhattan/Times Square was my need to be able to work quietly and blog after my long day of shows and events.

With a great view of Bryant Park and of 6th ave’s garment center, it was the perfect backdrop to work off of. The little living-room area was a great and comfortable place to rest my feet and lounge back while reflecting on the day’s events! I chose to work there more of the time on the plush sofa. However if I needed more table space I had it at the marble dining room table/desk.
On my last day of Fashion Week after packing up, I decided to go through all of the press kits, gift bags, and swag bags I received (from HSN, Ebay, Colgate, Milly, Jill Stuart, Zang Toi, Papyrus, Bibhu Mohapatra, Falguni & Shane Peacock, and so much more )to see what made them all to heavy plus have a mini fun-photo shoot doing so! _DSC0394

Dara is my name and being silly is my game!

I would recommend this hotel to everyone wanting to stay in NYC for business and pleasure! I would absolutely recommend this hotel for your stay in NYC during Fashion Week and for those taking a trip to NYC for business, especially those who need to stay close to the garment district!
I want to give a huge “THANK YOU” to everyone at Residence Inn New York Manhattan/Times Square
for a wonderful, comfortable, and beautiful stay and for making my week during MBFW as stress free and relaxing as possible! At the end of my trip I wanted to move in permanently! Now That Says A LOT!
