Mara Hoffman’s Spring 2014 collection was the ultimate summer wardrobe for today’s “It Girls”! Welcome to “The World of Mara’s Free Spirited Rainbow”; is what it felt like as each model came down the runway. Neon-Technicolor hippie, tribal chic is what this collection was all about! The collection was filled with her usual maxi dresses, kaftans, airy peasant trousers and swimwear made for a tropical jet-setter’s dream! Mara relies on her focused inspirations to create her collection each season rather than staying fully on trend with what forecasters may say. For Spring ’14 religions and cultures of the eastern hemisphere was the focal point for her. For example, her fun and multicolored prints were developed around the Evil Eye, which in many Middle Easter cultures are used to ward off evil and mean spirits. This makes perfect sense since Mara’s collections are anything but evil. They are cheerful and fun and no one (or spirit) should ever stand in her way! In addition, the tie-dye print heavily used throughout the collection brought it all together. The hair was sleek and pulled off the face in pony-tails, some models wore a braided pony-tale that went on for days, dies with matching printed ribbon from the rest of the collection. The makeup was natural and dewy. Beaded sunglasses were used to accessorize the collection
A Little Backstage Action:
This was one of our favorite shows for Spring 2014. It was fun, vibrant and on trend! Excited to see these looks next spring and summer on fashion’s elite!
TILL NEXT SEASON….
