Zang Toi’s fashion shows are those we always highly look forward to at The Style Senders. He truly out-does himself each season. For Spring 2014, Zang took us to the ballet, and that’s not just inspiration talk here. American Ballet Theater‘s Principal Dancer and known Zang Toi runway model, Cory Stearns graced us with her presence for the opening of the show. A beautiful ballet number was performed by him down the runway, which was classic and elegant as ever.
After Stearns’ performance was finished the show began. Zang designed an exquisite collection filled with men’s and women’s elegant cashmere pant suites and elaborate white tie affair worthy ball gowns. Each ensemble had its own identity. Details of delicate flower petals and crystals, sequins, bold print highlights, billowing tulle, and structured ruffles made Toi’s collection awe worthy. As per usual, the models “showed off” the clothing by gliding down the runway as if they were swans, stopping, twirling, and posing – the way it should be done and used to be done in times of yesteryear.
The collection consisted of soft and bright hues of powder, royal and navy blue, and black. My favorite look was of this pink dress coat adorned with flower petals at the waist. What a perfect item for a prima-ballerina!
The entire collection was lovely. The atmosphere in the tent was beautiful allowing all of his guests to be transported to a time of simplicity, happiness, love and sophistication. As the audience gave Zang their standing ovation he respectfully deserved, all you could hear was the roar of the audience over powering the beautiful music playing as he walked out to take his bow! There is nothing Zang Toi could do wrong! His collections speak only of beauty, grace, sophistication, and femininity. He is truly the master of modern American elegance!
P.S: When Speaking with Zang backstage, he truly is a very humble, appreciative and loving person. He thanked all who came to his show with open arms. To add to his generosity, before the show started Zang gave all the photographers in the photo/video pit a gourmet boxed dinner with a sandwich of choice, apple, and water bottle. This just goes to show, Zang never leaves any detail untouched. All press should be honored the way Zang and his team treats them.
Thank you Zang! We Love you!
