MBFW SS2014: Carmen Marc Valvo

Carmen Marc Valvo is best known for creating formal day looks and evening wear for an older sophisticated audience. Although in many of his looks for Spring 2014 went along with his renowned aesthetic, Carmen sexed it up a few notches geared towards a new generation of women. instead of his mostly modest looks he designed a collection full of skimpy mini dresses, lots of sheer and bear skin showing, and swim wear. The silhouettes where body conscience and form fitting, classically sexy not vulgar. Keeping to his classic long dresses were evening shifts and dropped waist beauties! The mostly black and white pallet was fresh and modern and allowed for Carmen’s new woman to stand out in the clothes she’s wearing.

As for the hair- sleek blond bobbed wigs that were dip-dyed black, allowed for a very cool and edgy contrast to the elegant clothing. Makeup was minimal and simple.

Overall, Carmen Marc Valvo’s Spring 2014 collection was striking in the best of ways!
