Last season I had the pleasure of attending Reem Acra’s Fall 2013 collection. There were two shows I had written about that never got published properly on my blog. This post, unfortunately was one of them. It just goes to show ya…technology isn’t 100% reliable.
Because of the glitch in the system I am going to now republish the post I did to get you all ready for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Spring 2014.
The Runway was made of what looked to be patent leather as the most beautiful, edgy and elegant collection made it’s way down the runway. Acra was inspired by a recent trip to Japan which was present in her uses of red and black along with floral embroidery accenting. Lots of fur was used in the collection which made for a rich textural appearance. The use of cashmere was divine. Fishnet prints were also a huge mainstay within the collection. Fishnet crepe gowns with fishnet overlays and stockings were classy and elegant making a new statement for a weave that is otherwise known for being less than desired, but completely worked herel! Woolen garments ad their play too! Over all the collection was one of my favorites (as usual) I couldn’t help myself from applauding as each look came down the runway for each look just kept getting better and better!
Reem is known for her red carpet ready looks and this collection had many that I hope to see on the red carpet very soon. Her use of goat hair in my favorite look which is shown on top was extraordinary! Who would have even thought…a black and red ombre goat-hair goat….genius. The amount of beading was wonderful leaving each gown designs with that special element of class and sophistication. If you are looking for your dream dress ladies, look no further than Reem Acra!
What do you think about this collection?
