SOCK-IT-TO-ME….DA SIEN!

SOCKS BANNERAs many of you know, I have been a bit of a cripple lately, limping around my house with a few contraptions Velcro-ed on to my ankle. It’s been so much fun…NOT!!! Just trying to make it fun by catching up on the latest celeb gossip, seeing a movie or two, (LES MIS!!!!!!!!) making homemade Tahini…mmmmm yummmyy!! Never the less, when leaving the house it’s a bit of a production when prepping my foot for the arctic chill we’ve been having.

Step One: Ace Bandage, Step Two: Sock, Step Three: Inner Boot Sock, Step Four: The Clunker

So you see my loyal readers, 4 steps to getting your foot prepared just to go, lets say, to your friends place two houses down, is a tad annoying. To be quite honest with you, the most annoying part of it all is step 2– trying to fit a sock over the thickly wrapped ace bandage without having the ace curl up underneath the sock.

Let’s take a nifty trip down memory lane shall we? —— Last Fashion Week in September, I was excitingly invited to The Allure Lounge gifting suite where I was presented with socks. Yes, SOCKS! At first I was a bit …I wouldn’t say confused…but shocked that a sock company would be showcasing themselves at Fashion Week. But, then I rewound my overworked NYFW brain and realized…”Yes, socks are fashion too…duuhh Dara!” And, this is how I discovered Da Sien !

Quick Language Lesson: {Da Sien: Pronounced; (Dah-Sign) – A German philosophical term with the meaning of human existence.}

Caprice Bondage Over-the-Knee Socks

Caprice Bondage Over-the-Knee Socks

I quickly fell in love with the Hong-Kong based company!! It wasn’t hard to at all, either! Each individual pair of socks are made to perfection with fun and refreshing innovative patterns that are sure to standout form your average, run of the mill, ordinary dress-socks. Thankfully, I was given a few pairs to try out! Fast Forward to December: It has finally become chilly enough to wear fun socks that I want to show off. The week I was planning on sporting fun loafers with my new Da Sien socks was the week I was subjected to Mr. Clunker. After wearing boring yet practical black anklet socks, when leaving the house they just weren’t doing the trick. I needed a solution that would protect my leg from the friction the clunker was causing on my calf. Ouchies…! So what’s a girl to do? I already tried slipping on my Dad’s heavy gym/scrunched socks he’s had since the 80′s, ya know the ones that you can roll up to the calf (they made things to last a lifetime back then) but it didn’t do the trick. Hmmmm….I needed knee highs so I found a pair of hose then realized they were to thin and wouldn’t keep my precious tootsies warm! AH-HA – Brilliance overcame me! I then dug through my room, through the pile of fashion week spring 2013 goodies and flung out the thigh-highs I’ve been so eagerly waited to wear!! At last – something to cover my feet with some personality! ::does the one legged happy dance::: Above is the sock I excitingly found in my bedroom. I’m so happy about the color combination because who wants their walking cast to stand out like a soar…ankle? The white and black combo is sleek and conservative but exudes an attitude of “look at me”! :::haha:::”Caprice” is so soft she feels like a baby’s bottom! She stretches so comfortably,mfits over my ace bandage perfectly, and comforts my leg stylishly! Wahoo!! I would wear these socks at any time; On the train or in a plain, in a car or at a bar, with a friend around the bend…okay you get my point!!

The comfort factor of all these socks is to be unbelieved! You feel as if your feet are actually breathing while being kept warm. With all of the patterns and styles Da Sien offers in their collection you are sure to find at least 5 that fit your style. I know I want them all!!!!
Here’s a look as to what they offer:collage
