82nd Annual Academy Awards 2010 – Best Dressed

Now, my entire life of watching the Oscar’s I have always said that the only designer that should be worn should be…you guessed it…Mr. Oscar him himself, Oscar De La Renta. But, I don’t think that would go over to well with all the other fabulous designer who’s luxurious work has graced the red carpet over the years. Don’t get me wrong, some actors have made very bad choices at the Academy awards! We all Remember Bjork’s swan dress that I think was more of a Swan song; a cry for help. I think we need to put that monstrosity behind us and never look back on it again, even though it is such an iconic FASHION DONT! Tonight, Instead of focusing on the Fashion don’t of the Oscars I am going to focus on the FASHION DO’s!

Amanda Seyfried In Armani Prive, bangles by Lorraine Schwartz, metallic Salvatore Ferragamo clutch, Shoes by Brian Atwood

Many of the women tonight looked like couture angels floating across a sea of red and a sky of gold. My personal favorite was Amanda Seyfried in Armani Prive! You can’t really tell by this photograph how breathtaking this gown really. When she Presented an award with Miley Cyrus one was able to see how flowy, elegant and whimsical this gown is. This sea foam green silk and metallic threaded number literally took my breath away!

Speaking of Miley Cyrus in this Golden Jenny Packham gown… The girl looks beautiful but the bustier did not fit her properly! It was pulling in all the wrong areas. This photograph does not show the imperfection I speak of but trust me, on camera, they were there, front and center! Although this dress is very age appropriate I felt it was a little too presumptuous of her to wear as a presenter. But that is just my opinion.

Queen Latifa truly looked like a queen in this Lilac  semi asymmetrical Badgley Mischa gown! The fit of the gown truly shows off all of her curves in all the right places. I believe this is the best she has veer looked on the red carpet. The detailing of the crystals that starts on her shoulder and wrapped around her bodice makes this gown a smash hit, and to top it off, the train is stunning and complements her very well.

82nd Academy Award Winner for Best Leading Actress in Drama for “The Blind Side” Sandra Bullock Looked like an Oscar herself

in this metallic and lace  gown designed by the lovely ladies at Marchesa. The look was absolutely stunning. I loved how she chose to style her hair but I was not crazy about the shade of  red she chose to wear on her lips.

It was too bright and took away from the luminosity of her dress. Although you cannot see them,

Sandra is wearing Jimmy Choo Platforms. She was quoted saying , “If I step up on that stage tonight, I just don’t want these heels to pull this body down!”  There were not trips or falls for this Oscar Winner other than her falling madly in love with her new man, Oscar! Sorry, Jesse!

YES, OSCAR IS FINALLY BEING WORN AT THE OSCARS! Cameron Diaz looks stunning for the first time in a very long time, or I think ever in this champagne, glittering gown obviously designed by Oscar De La Renta. Her hair is simple and very beautiful. The straight across strapless neck line shows off her upper body very nicely and the A-line complements Camerone very well. This gown is a perfect fit for Ms. Diaz! Tres Manifique!

Do any of you remember the 2003 Independent film “CAMP” written and directed by Todd Graff, about a group of young teenagers who spend their summer at a performing arts camp and all that goes with it? Well this is where I first took notice Anna Kendrick. Most people don’t know but this girl can belt out a tune like no ones business! Almost seven years later Ms. Kendrick has been

nominated for best supporting actress for her all star work in “Up in the Air” staring George Clooney and Vera Farmiga. Anna was originally supposed to wear a dark blue dress, designer not known, but last minute decided to wear this very lovely off the shoulder soft pink, hand draped Elie Saab Couture gown! She looks absolutely stunning, almost like a Grecian goddess! Unfortunately Anna did not win the Oscar but in-place won the hearts of fashion followers everywhere!

Speaking of Vera Farmiga, Anna Kednrick’s costar and competitor for “Best Supporting Actress” for “Up in the Air” looked smashing in this fusica asymmetrically draped, pleated ruffled gown by Marchesa.

fuchsia gown from Marchesa, Fred Leighton jewels and Christian Louboutins,

Marchesa really does knows how to ultra glamorous gowns that can only be worn on the red carpet. They photograph so well too! I first took notice of Ms. Farmiga in the Holocaust film, “The Boy in the Stripped Pajamas.” She was brilliant in that film just as she was in “Up in the Air.” I see more major things for this movie star in the near future. Getting back to the dress. She looks amazing! This is a very hard dress to wear. If worn on the wrong body, it can emphasize target body parts in a very negative way, but it works for Vera, Very Well!! Congrats on your Oscar nominations!

What more could be said about Actress Helen Mirren?  She always looks absolutely stunning! I personally always look forward to see her on the red carpet because she never goes wrong on the red carpet. Sophisticated, polished, glamorous , and elegant are just a few words that can explain this years

Head to toe in Badgley Mischka, Chopard Jewels

“Best Actress” nominee for “The Last Station.”  Ms. Mirren is wearing a silver beaded, satin crepe & tulle gown and dressed head to toe in Badgley Mischka. She is also wearing an astonishing 125-carat oval-shaped diamond necklace and tear drop earrings by Chopard. Wow, Who could go wrong with that? Certianly not Helen Mirren.
