Jean Paul Gaultier is known for his very extravagant and sometimes controversial runway shows. On January 21, 2010 in Paris Jean Paul Gaultier took a swing at a new look for Men’s couture. For most men world, I think this was the ideal collection – putting together your basic gym attire and mixing it up with cashmere! So soft yet practical, no?
Models in Gaultier’s spin on the Sweat pant, tank top, hoodie, short, and cardigan sweater charged down the runway. But, it wouldn’t completely be Gaultier without the occasional appearance of the man-skirt or kilt! Some garments had a punch of velvet that added a nice balance between all the chunky knits and leather.
Even though there were women boxers in the ring in the center of the runway, it did not diminish, but only added to the theme of this seasons collection, which I perceive to be “Mama said knock you out, chic” Although this collection was a take on active wear, many, if not all pieces could be worn on a man who is casually out and about and possibly taking on a few bar brawls on the way.
