Designer Massimiliano Giornetti took this season in Milan to the country. By country I do not mean Italy’s country side. This collection almost makes you feel like you are in a modern-day Cowboy’s Couture Dream that consisted of distressed suede riding boots, over-sized coats with large toggle closers, leathers, velvets, and rich deep earth tones including brown, green, and navy! As a contrast there was a lot of light colors such as white, cream and bone! There also seemed to be hints of flair from dating back to the 1940’s. Oh, If only cowboys dreamed in Couture!!!! I wonder what John Wayne might have thought of this collection…hmm?
Looking at the oh so very chunky and bulky knit scarves; they seem almost as big as my blanket, And with the temperature these days being in the low teens, I would love to have one for myself. A lot of the garments in Salvatore Ferragamo Menswear F/W 2010/2011 collection were also for the inner cowboy who likes to get a bit dressed up…more formal. So if a modern-day cow-boy has a hoe-down to go to that requires formal attire he’s all set to go with Jacquard dinner jackets, velvet penny loafers, and silk scarves with patterns of paisley!
YEE-HAAAWW for Salvatore Ferragamo Menswear FW 2010-2011!
